DO NOT BUY! HORRIBLE PIECE OF JUNK Mar 22, 2010

I was pretty excited to find a replica of Sori Yanagi's 1954 Butterfly Stool for under $100. Unfortunately, this is the single worst piece of junk I have ever purchased in my life. I wanted this item and couldn't spend the $600-$900 for an "authorized" replica. But even as I lowered my expectations, this is too crappy for keep. The "wood finish" is basically a sheet of paper with printed wood motif that is glued to cheap agglomerate wood. In my case, the paper peeled off the chair in a few places righ out of the box. THIS ITEM IS NOT WORTH $5!! Save yourself the hassle of returning it to Amazon like I had to do.

Unfortunately this item is very poorly made. The chair was asymmetrical, wobbly and uneven. It also presented several scratches on the veneer and the brass fittings were starting to rust.
